Coming from Germany where both of this is normal it’s pretty crazy to me that this is seen as some kind of socialist utopia.

Admittedly there are a lot of problems in that country as well but the root of them is imo not in free education & healthcare.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools… how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

So I think many of the ASML ladies have migrated to the Netherlands due to them being highly qualified in the area and there seems to be a lack of people who can do it locally. With the 30% tax ruling that’s a sweet deal if you’ve got the right background and experience.

I assume whispering in Dutch would just sound horrible and insulting to the ears. I kinda get that they would want to move to France. I imagine French whispering to be more appealing, so they would need to hire less skilled workers from foreign countries.

The only thing that I still don’t get is why they need a factory for this when it’s such a WFH friendly job.

I mean you have a point and I agree with most of what you’re saying, but we’re sending weapons and providing rhetorical cover for the Israeli government. E.g. by the police violently interrupting protests, or worse insisting that the claims of genocide are baseless and going as far as announcing to intervene on Israel’s behalf in the ICJ.

Palestinians are being killed by German-delivered ammunition all while Germany is defending Israel in the ICJ. This is clearly supporting the ongoing genocide
