I don’t know if he believed this way when he was in Germany, but he only studied there and came back to the USA after for the rest of his life. But I agree he’s a special kind of stupid.

My Dad is a Hitler supporter and Holocaust denier and he has a bachelor’s degree and even studied in Germany. Wild how he can believe such things, so it’s not just the ones who can’t read who believe this crap. 🫠
My initial thoughts exactly.
Calling /u/fuckswithducks are you here on Lemmy?
I vacillate between feeling good about myself vs not feeling good enough. I think that’s just life for the most part, but it’s hard not to feel inadequate despite everything.
Why do I feel good?
Why do I feel bad?
Getting that new phone is a great upgrade for a great price so I’m doing it, but I still feel it’s a waste of money in a way because my old phone works fine for the most part and it is stressing.
Eating out stresses me because I know it’s more food than I should eat, for more money than it would cost me to make equally good food (usually) at healthier portion sizes.
This also extends to a fear of getting a girlfriend because they’ll “expect” me to spend lots of money on them, which I just do not feel comfortable thinking about. Although if I like a woman, and she doesn’t seem to expect me to spend money on her, then I WANT to spend money on her ironically.
The economy always scares me. Going bankrupt from medical bills terrifies me. Rent prices increasing, while my income generally remains the same, scares me. But at the same time I should be able to command a larger income with my upcoming degree and new sales award, so I know I’ll most likely be okay.
Being poor in retirement scares me, I don’t want to work at Walmart when I’m 80.
At times I feel like, what’s the point? But I know I’ll only feel worse if I let depression actually take hold, I’m in a good place and I’m always improving. So I try to stretch myself and relax about many of these things. Life is good! There’s so much to feel good about, and there’s always reasons to feel sad but that’s life! The world isn’t perfect, and never has been. All we can do is our best, working towards a better future for ourselves and dealing with troubles when they happen. Living in fear of the future, ruins our present. Whatever happens, happens. That’s what makes life so interesting, the unexpected.
Stay positive my fellow lemmings!
Are there any plans to make an upvote history log available for users to view? I loved looking back over my upvoted content occasionally, but now I have to specifically save them to be able to keep track of them.
That’s a fair point, maybe I should look into using newpipe and use what was my monthly payment as a direct donation to my favorite creators instead. Thanks for the informative reply!
Yep! The welfare cliff I believe it’s called. Evidence of a poorly designed welfare system, which I think some see as a feature not a bug sadly.
My reply to all the naysayers:
Thanks for making Lemmy feel like home, it wouldn’t without you!
The reality is it’s a free world, regardless of what morality you put on things there are going to be things that happen that you don’t like. That’s life.
Like it or not Lemmy has had explosive growth because of apps like Sync. Because of them being killed off by Reddit. If it weren’t for the drama of Reddit doing that, I and millions of other users wouldn’t be here right now as we’d still be on Reddit.
Even people who weren’t using the 3rd party apps left Reddit because Reddit’s actions left a bad taste in their mouths.
So, morality of one guy charging for his honest work in creating the paid or ad supported app aside, you should be thanking the apps including sync for helping drive so many users to Lemmy.
If you yourself don’t want to use a paid app, then that’s okay! We’re all allowed to respond or react to things how we want, but being incredibly divisive for something that a lot of people wanted and that really is inconsequential is almost universally frowned on.
Just let people do what they want and don’t shoot them down for it. More options for browsing Lemmy = more Lemmings = more content.
Much love my dudes! We may disagree on this but we agree on many many many more things I’m sure, just because we’re on Lemmy instead of Reddit in the first place is proof of that! ✌️
Oh man, Sync is just so great and only $20 to get no ads you should give it a try!

Most Americans have no clue what the rest of the world is like.
Most Americans don’t even understand the progressive income tax system we have, they will go so far as to decline raises because it’ll put them in a higher bracket and they think that will mean less take home pay. It doesn’t! You should always take a raise!
I believe I’ll someday move to a country that has good policies for everything from healthcare, to work life balance, and social safety nets, and I’ll never have to deal with the American nightmare again.
If they converted them into self custody Bitcoin then they’d have keys to their wallet!
