Gorgeous shot. My favorite times of day are just before sunrise and sunset, sometimes you get the most spectacular light and color. Where did you take that from?

We somehow still managed that despite the fossil fuel industry’s meddling for fucking ages.

That was in the first 5 minutes

Know what’ll fix this? More tariffs
I fuckin loved The Bends though. And while Pablo Honey may not be anything compared to Ok Computer, the track Blowout is soooooo good. They also have a substantial amount of excellent b-sides around their earlier few albums. OK computer was a monster of an album though, no doubt.
I haven’t really listened to them in years now, lol. Funny how things change…

I live near a couple fairly affluent areas and it’s insane how little time those places are actually occupied by residents/renters/anyone-that’s- not-a-contractor. Massive, sprawling properties that could comfortably accommodate like 3-4 families (or uncomfortably, perhaps 9-10?!)… I drive by these houses year-round and have never even noticed any cars or lights on or any signs of life coming from anywhere on/around the property. I guarantee some of these mansions are gobbling up resources for heating/cooling/etc without a soul inside to benefit from any of it–if anything it’s more to preserving the condition of the house and the contents within. The amount of resources these monstrosities take to build and maintain is ridiculous. I realize that it does fuck-all in the grand scheme, but i feel like it’s an example of the kind of thoughtless waste these people leave in their wake.

No money for healthcare, billions and billions (ICE already received 200 billion) for domestic terrorism

Get ready!!!
Does that mean “show translation”?

It never occurred to me that the beef the US has with other countries having nukes is because it would put them on even footing. No nukes = no leverage.

As though they needed to somehow make themselves even more monstrous, this really exemplifies how wretched these fuckers are. Dropping bombs on people, waiting for the medical/rescue people to arrive–bombing them as well–wait for the next wave of medical/rescue personnel to arrive to help recover from both attacks–bomb them again and we’re still not even at the 4th “tap”. The fact they use such a small, antiseptic term like “(insert multiple here)-tap” for something as appallingly vicious just underscores how disgustingly inhumane they are.
Not to mention, that is illegal under international law according to the article:
Under international law, all medics are protected and are considered non-combatants, regardless of political affiliation.
Of course, if no one enforces the law it really is just a guideline or suggestion. Nobody stopped them at double-tap strikes, look where that’s gotten us. Fucking quadruple-tap. If they ever wanted to reveal that they’re the bad guys, this is basically like a giant fucking neon sign stating as much.

I found this morsel particularly poignant:
"Ironically, Meta expected rights groups to be too busy to step in, given the disastrous geopolitical climate.
“We will launch during a dynamic political environment where many civil society groups that we would expect to attack us would have their resources focused on other concerns,” the document reads, as quoted by the NYT."

That’s interesting to consider. Are there still “Army/Navy stores” out there? I’ve never noticed any around me

My thoughts exactly. Why won’t he gradually replace all government workers with ICE agents? They can do whatever work is needed (poorly, not that they give a fuck–in fact they’ll claim the jobs were done poorly before so don’t blame ice if things don’t improve) while also detaining suspect people at their whims as well. For this administration it would seem like a win-win

It’s awesome this 25+ year old system is still getting love from the community. The Dreamcast was really cool for it’s time. Reminds me of when i was still optimistic about new consoles… Not that it was the best ever by any stretch but it did enough to earn it’s place in my collection.

RELEASE THE TURTLES!! 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢

This really seems to be the direction that any successful venture eventually turns into: a vehicle for rich investors to insert their control and their ideas for the sake of turning out more profit for themselves. It’s never about making a better product or making it more affordable or accessible–it’s never about improving anything if it doesn’t satisfy the demands of someone with money that came along and bought enough stock in the company to take charge of it.
I have wondered about that in the past, how a small company goes public and picks up funding from a billionaire. Now he sits in his little office running his little company with 2 guys in black suits and sunglasses watching their every move. I just don’t get the warm and fuzzies when i think of capitalism anymore. To succeed puts you in league with some unbelievably ruthless and selfish people.
Dad?!
