I’ve was at a restaurant once where I ordered Coke and they brought me Pepsi. I noticed immediately and had to get something else. I hate the taste of Pepsi.

Technology@lemmy.world•The 512KB Club is a collection of performance-focused web pages from across the Internet. To qualify your website must both be actually useful and under 512KB in size.English
23·3 months agoI actually read the link and they mention QUIC
there is a notion that HTTP/3 and QUIC will do away with the 14kB rule — this is not true. QUIC recommends the same 14kB rule.
Same here. French bread is weirdly hard to make.

World News@lemmy.world•Study: There is less room to store carbon dioxide, driver of climate change, than previously thoughtEnglish
41·5 months agoOkay, so it does mean “1/10th of”. If words still had meaning then “ten times less” would mean “we thought we had 10 but we actually have -90”.

3·5 months agoHonest question, does “10 times less” mean 1/10th? It makes no sense to me mathematically.
Janet changed her mind real quick when Brad wasn’t there.

7·7 months agoI got a second party dock for the switch one back in pandemic times because my son wanted to hang out with me while I worked. The dock I got didn’t block the front so he could play it while it charged.

8·9 months agoGlad people care this time, pure VPN did exactly the same thing except without the buyout. 5 years into a lifetime plan they said, “sorry, your account is closed”. They were offering 5 year plans for less when I got the lifetime one. They didn’t care and told me to complain to slashDot because that’s where I bought it.

There was a pretty awesome shoe commercial a few minutes after midnight. It had a guy jogging down the street, presumably on Jan 1st, while in the background ATMs are spewing cash, planes are falling out of the sky, traffic lights are flashing randomly, and other chaos. Then it had a tag about new years resolutions. That commercial made it all worth it

Ever hear the joke “why is 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 ate/8 9”? Well kids these days are really into that joke to the point that they will go crazy if you just mention 6 and 7.
