Meanwhile there’s word that New Horizons mission will be shutting down, because they’re a few million dollars short. But I guess another billion in loans for Nazis to prolong a preventable war is better, huh?

We should really disable downvotes on lemmygrad, maybe then these libs will explain their reason why healthcare should be cut in favour of destroying precious US military equipment in the wild fields?

On the one hand - yea, I’m genuinely curious what got people so twisted. Is science a controversial topic now? Is it due to using the term Nazi? Calling the war preventable?

On the other hand, I’m not sure my blood sugar could handle the level of brainrot that would inevitably be in such replies. Besides, most of the “arguments” are easy enough to predict - just go to anywhere more mainstream online, i.e. lemmy main

It’s difficult to express in words how I feel seeing my country trip over itself to throw billions of dollars into a black hole while millions of my own people live in poverty and die of preventable diseases. How long have we been fighting for something as basic as universal healthcare and the answer is always “it costs too much.” I guess money is no object when we’re funding nazis

Universal healthcare saves money. It’s kept private so that corporations can squeeze you for cash, feeding it to a bloated insurance and hospital industry, particularly to the owners of those industries.

no argument here, it’s our representatives that keep repeating “it costs too much/it will lower quality of care”
