Weird that it seems every time I turn around I see one of two things - voters telling the Democrats that we want them to move back to the left or Democrats telling us that that’s not actually what we want.

I’d actually be a little more tolerant of that if the fuckwads would just come out and say that the truth is that they don’t care what we want - that their corporate donors want them to stay as far to the right as possible, and that that’s the only thing that matters.

Spend some time in the NY Times comment section and you’ll find these voters. They are convinced that “centrist” policies are the way to win elections and they detest Bernie Sanders and anyone who voted for him. They still blame “Bernie bros” for Trump’s win in 2016. They think the only thing wrong with Harris’s campaign was that she didn’t have enough time to get her message out. They basically want some of the same goals as Republicans around immigration and anti-“woke,” they just want them done in a nicer way that doesn’t hurt any feelings. No one will admit it, but I suspect most of them voted for Reagan.

America has always been right wing vs further right wing.

Fuck the people vs fuck the people harder.

this entire article was an exercise in right wing mental masturbation - apparently manchin is a centrist, or so we are told.

every single example given is an isolated point in time with zero historical context or recognition of the zeitgeist (particularly the 2016 election). its as though Joseph Goebbels hooked up with a statistician and started beating you over the head with their lovechild. so tired of the gaslighting ratchet.

admittedly, I could not finish the article so I may have missed some elucidating factoid later on… but right now we all have bigger fish to fry that dont involve another rightward drag of the overton window.
