American “conservatives” don’t have any actual policies/plans. So they have to complain about things that don’t matter so intensely that they trick themselves and others into thinking they matter so they have something to work with.
Yes, it’s pathetic. Yes, everyone with a functional brain knows it’s pathetic. Problem is, there are so many of these low IQ “conservatives” that we can’t just ignore them and focus on things that do matter because we have to keep paying attention to these idiot bulls in the china shop and focus all our energy on protecting as much of the china as possible.
Exactly.
I’m so damn tired of seeing comments like “why do you keep complaining about Trump, but you didn’t complain so much about Biden?” As if that’s even a legitimate question.
Because that dumbass pedo is destroying our country, looting all the coffers, pissing our allies off, starting wars, increasing costs of living and just generally fucking everything up for ALL OF US!!! Biden was too old and didn’t do as much as I’d have liked, but goddammit don’t even pretend they are equally bad. They aren’t in the same ballpark, they aren’t even the same sport.
These MAGA morons sound like “why are you screaming because I stabbed you in the chest with a knife, but you didn’t complain when Joe gave you a paper cut?”
WTF!

Yep.
Everything he did, he did it wrong, and it was evilbad, because he was a black man in what had been, until that point, a role dedicated to white men.
And a solid 3rd of the country had a psychotic break because a man with the wrong colored skin won the oval office.
The Cons needed something negative to say and since they have the brain development of children, they go for schoolyard insults-- aka picking on appearances. Back then, they couldn’t say anything about him being black, so they went for his clothes.
He looked damn good in that suit too. They were probably jealous af.
A certain subset of the media had extreme double standards for Obama, over previous presidents. Because Obama was generally pretty scandal free, the media had to latch on to any minor “misdeed.” So we saw news stories where they discussed how horrible he was to wear a tan suit or ask for the fancy mustard instead of regular.
Usually, when people bring it up in the present day, it’s to point out the hypocrisy of those media sources. Could you imagine Fox news spending weeks discussing how unprofessional Trump looks wearing (insert perfectly innocuous outfit here)?
Note: Obama was certainly not perfect, and he did have his issues, but generally not the sort that could fill a 24hr news channel for 8 years straight. Especially when his actual scandals weren’t actually things that particular organization was against (NSA spying on Americans, extrajudicial killing of citizens abroad, etc).
He was black, promoted above his status. That is all.
It is beyond bizarre what becomes a big deal with US Presidents, it is even more bizarre what doesn’t.
With that said, the silly shit that people got worked up about with Obama was beyond the pale.
Fox News would find any reason to criticize Obama and one time he wore a tan suit and they flipped the fuck out saying it was not presidential. They basically created a vertical out of it.
Got to ask the way you used vertical what do you mean? I only know about it in like a direction or jumping. Am I missing something?
A “vertical” usually refers to control all aspects of a product from manufacturing to end user sales. In this case, Fox News manufactured the tan suit crisis from nothing, built the outrage around it, and sold it to their viewers.
A deal was made about it, but I don’t think it was a big one. Most people just rolled their eyes and moved on. It was stereotypical slow news week material for Fox News.
Was it as big as the white and gold dress thing?
