According to data from Tufts University’s Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (Circle), which monitors youth civic engagement, early estimates show the second-highest youth turnout in a midterm election in 30 years, second only to 2018, when an estimated 31% of young voters turned out during Donald Trump’s first presidency.
While voters over 45 were roughly split between parties, voters ages 18-29 went for congressional Democrats at a 35-point edge, across race, gender, ethnicity, and education levels. Latino youth went for Trump by slim majorities in 2024; this year, they voted Democrat by margins of +10 to +15. 63% of young white men went for Trump in 2024; this cycle, 54% voted Dem. White young women also switched allegiance from 2024 by +15. Rural voters went from 50% voting for Trump in 2024 to 60% supporting Democratic candidates.

As a xenial I 100% back them. In fact I think my days of just leaving shit be is over, i have nothing to lose anymore except my daughter’s future.
And while I’ve always been left leaning. I never imagined someone like Trump ever being able to gain the power he has. I’ve always kept to myself and worried about what others thinks or how it would impact my life. But that’s over. I’m fighting for my daughter
Yes I had a child later in life at 36. Because I knew I didn’t have the means of supporting a child. Now that I’m 48 and nothing has really improved. I can only hope for a better life for my child
I’m 100% with you. I have no doubt that now that PeeWee Himmler is in charge, he’ll want to punish young people for abandoning MAGA, so we’ll be putting troops in Iran, and starting a draft.
Like you, I’m also an older Dad, with a draft-age son, and I am not sending my only child to die in a Trump War of profit, under any circumstances.
We’re going to have to get ready for general strike and more protests I’m afraid. Democrats taking majority means we got a microphone that works but we still have to say things into it.

Because those are the four people interviewed in the article. I’m not sure if you didn’t look at the article, or that you’re trying to imply that men are being under-represented in political discussion.
No, I read it. It seems to be implying that young women only made the difference. Those pics are implying something. Trump losing young men is kind of huge.
