Fuck AI@lemmy.world•OpenAI fought dirty on career-making math problem, says NYU mathematician | TechCrunch
2·9 days agoBy coincidence, per Zitron, this is also in the ballpark ratio by which chatbots used to be subsidized
and also it’s not the entire problem, just a segment of it (no idea how big it is)

4·25 days agosomehow i think that there should be a way to match edges of these blocks and unscramble the image this way. note that the more of unscrambled image you have the easier it should get. however, if you took every block and dispersed its pixels (xor something) into all new blocks, that would be much harder

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If someone's injected with cancer cells, they develop cancer. Could at least part of the increase in cancer be to do with people getting other people's cancer cells inside their bodies?
2·28 days agocancer is in large part an old people disease, if you avoided dying of cholera you’re more likely to die of something else. also now there’s a lot of people who were exposed to carcinogens decades back, and we got better at treating pr preventing some other common causes of death like stroke or heart disease
this is how antibodies work
it would be about as reliable either way
