I bought a puck light from Reject shop for the kids to play with. I thought they’d all be the same but apparently ‘you get what you pay for applies here too’.

The button is already busted and hard to press, and the magnet can barely hold the weight of the light itself. That’s the sort of thing I assumed would be the same everywhere

I had a bunch of these from Ikea when the kids were little. Very useful when the kids awoke in the middle of the night. They were strategically placed around the house, I remember one being in the kitchen another in the bathroom. One in their room.

They were <$5, used 3x AAA batteries that lasted ages and had great magnets. If you have a real use for them, I recommend the Ikea ones. Of course, the real challenge with Ikea is actually walking in and out and only buying the $5 you went in there for. I’ve never managed it.

I have some other lights around I use.I’m sure I could find some at Jaycar or bunnings as well.

The kids just love to turn them on and stare directly into them

I recently bought a medium size candle from a dollar store, cost $5, it won’t burn properly because the wick is too thin for the wide candle. This is a bit of manufacturing cost cutting that is surprising and annoying.

    Update on the garlic bread:

It turned out well. Very crispy. Honestly this is my new favourite way to cook them

Chipping away at render while carolling a sucession of 80’s hits that only someone who lived through the 80’s would put on a playlist. Greatly amused my neighbours bawling out mi-sex while swinging a five pound hammer

I was just thinking… imagine heaven like they show in movies and shows and stuff where there are people in white clothes up amongst the clouds with harps and stuff. Except imagine the weather is like it actually is at that altitude. Just super windy and really cold.

Anyway just thinking about my grandad. Miss you, pop.

Slept with my hand under my head and my wrist is feeling fucky. I guest I can tick off ‘injury while sleeping’ on the over 40 list of bullshit.

Good morning friendship pals! The sun is shining(somewhere), the birds are chirping(but not so much), and HOPEFULLY my delivery is coming today. “Transferred at Sunshine West” yeah you BETTER BE.

I had a dream where robots invaded the earth so that was cool and I fully support then in their hobbies.

“Your delivery is coming today” message received. There’s construction across the road so time to look out the window every time I hear a van for the next 4 to 8 hours

I ordered some sheets from Kmart almost a fortnight ago and had them redirected to my post office, but then a week ago it said it was “in transit” twice in my suburb and has never updated to say it’s arrived at my post office

Did they send it via couriers please? Every time I’ve gotten something from them they have, and couriers please has managed to fuck something up.

Nope this one’s through auspost. They did send me a heater through couriers please at the end of last month but they managed to fucking lose it so I ended up with no heater

That sounds like them. I swear they’ve never managed to deliver anything well.

One time they broke one delivery, and then broke the replacement that was sent.

I don’t understand why I still have some residual sniffles… I was like the first one to get sick, and that happened 15 days ago, but was probably infected about 19 or 20 ago

My partner and kid both came down with something 2 weeks ago, which started with razor-blade sore throat and sniffles then progressed into a hacking cough. Although they’re both much better now, they’re still coughing and have the sniffles. There’s a few nasty viruses going around atm.

Hope you’re feeling g better soon

Got my covid booster within six months no questions asked beside my date of birth (I’m 22) and name. Apparently pharmacies don’t follow the rules? I’m only allowed to get it every 12 months lol

I’m keen to get my booster, but I think the advice is still that people under 18 shouldn’t get it unless they have specific health conditions

I had it about a month ago, and the pharmacist told me that it was a good idea to have another one in six months if I was at all high risk or needed to travel, and that some pharmacies were stricter but most aren’t.
