    Mother fucking SCORE

Caught ol mister Bill Posters and his mate sitting in their van across the road waiting for me to to go back inside after taking the bins out so they could dash out and plaster the derelict lot. While they’re a-noodling upon their phones suddenly a Wild Leya appears at the driver’s side window.

    “ey…you got any Pulp posters?”

“JESUS CHRIST um yes? I think so?” and lo. Both myself and a fellow fan now have mint double-wide marquees for the 2026 tour. He’s shitting his pants right now.

Tis the season of feeling bad about myself. Have the first functions of the season this weekend, and I know I’ll be hearing about everyone’s great achievements, new jobs, holidays, houses, family updates etc. And as always I have nothing to say, and feel like the rooms most boring looser. I know it shouldn’t matter but Christmas always make me feel extra lonely, and because it’s at the end of the year I feel like it’s another year gone and I’ve done nothing. Sorry for the bah humbug.

I know it sucks, especially if you’ve had challenges or barriers that others haven’t. But don’t worry about keeping up with the Jones and all the rat race shit. You may find that behind a lot of flashy things lies a lot of stress and hidden debt.

Don’t compare your life to other’s highlights reels. Don’t let unequal outcomes affect your self esteem.

I feel the same because the things I have done are things most people don’t care about or think are worth bragging about, I don’t care because I don’t measure myself against them using their yardstick, I use my own

being a good kind person doing small things on a daily basis is a feat in itself and something worthy being happy about

and in this historic time not being awful is something good 👍

End of work week shower is up there with the best of showers. Among that title is also post hike shower and fresh sheets shower. Anyone have one to add to the podium?

    uni rant

I am a little annoyed. My last assignment was due on the 24th. I unfortunately am an idiot and ended up submitting it on the 2nd. Results for the subject were also due on the 24th, so my mark has been put in as a fail grade, and I have to attend a hearing to see if I’m allowed to stay in my course. However, there are two caveats here.

    • The results policy says they take 5% of marks off for every WORKING day over due date and time so if we count the working days, it should be 25% off the grade, or 30% if they count the day I submitted, if it’s before the due time.
    • It also says that the assignment will not be marked if it’s over 10 or more working days over due.

I have emailed the subject coordinator, because if my last assignment got 70%, and this one was probably about the same standard if not higher, I should still have enough marks to pass the subject. The subject coordinator has not replied. I think they are on holidays now.

I wonder if something can be done or if I have to fail because of this. Based on the policy, I should still be able to get it marked. Unless there is a line here saying that if it was submitted after results release, I can’t get my assignment graded.

Don’t know if it will apply, a million years ago I got a “automatic 50% unmarked submitted too late”

I failed digital programing 2 in 98 doing that. Late assignments are one thing. The end of subject and result submission are another. The subject has a deadline, without a prior extension I expect you’ll be stuck with it. It sucked for me.

Oh no :( how did that change the trajectory of things for you?

I’m still going to write in my submission to the hearing about their policy and see what happens. I didn’t work on that assignment for nothing.

Tbh. I should never have been in that course to begin with. I only went to uni due to high school pressure to do so. My parents encouraged a take drugs and party lifestyle which didn’t help either.

3 of my 5 pairs of work trousers have arrived. It may be a week’s worth of trousers, but can be easily stretched out to two weeks if you wear them twice. When you have five identical pairs, who knows if you’re wearing a new pair or not?

Hahaha a Kdrama I watched recently featured a guy who was soooo amazingly popular and hard working that he owned ten sets of the same suit so he could think about work instead of clothes. Well, thats what all the girls thought, but it turned out he was a tight ass and only had one suit.

I keep putting off cleaning the windows because it’s a big job I don’t feel like spending the time on. But one of the windows has been getting extra manky, so today I cleaned just that one. The room looks so much better now. Miss Meow loves her window hammock but she does create quite a lot of mess around it.

Is there any reasonably cheap and fun family stuff (around tween age) to do around Melbourne CBD over the weekend that might not show up on searches? Visiting from the sticks so the bar isn’t all that high for something to be interesting though any franchise/activity that also operates in Adelaide is probably disqualified.

I love Lego but the kids don’t like Star Wars. There’s also a monopoly thing somewhere I think but it’s hard to get excited over boomer IP even for an old bloke. But thanks for the suggestion.

      What are the kids into?

There’s the city circle tram, old Melbourne gaol, vic market, botanic gardens, ACMI (has a gaming exhibition), NGV…

Thanks. ACMI is already on the list. Might do the markets depending on time but have a lot of things already. Have done the usuals in the past like scienceworks, NGV, museum, aquarium. All great but not this time.
