Which…face it, every gaslighting anti-scientific idiot and those with the engineer’s disease have had on their wish list for-fucking-ever. Since before “politically correct” morphed into “woke”.

Some of them probably have a permanent erection after the dismantling of NREL and NCAR.

They fucking hated it when those smarter than they are could point to things like government agencies tracking climate change. Now, they cannot. At least not in the USA. Guess we’ll have to rely on more advanced countries now.

Since donnie dumbass and the conservative movement is hellbent on taking us backwards.

You can find various discussions about engineer’s syndrome or engineer’s disease all over the place, but once you see it yourself, you’ll never unsee it. It may be you’ve already seen it in action, just never had it named.

        A for instance:

        https://thunkshow.com/2019/07/24/172.-‘Engineer’s-Syndrome’-and-Learning-Techniques.html

I went for a Computer Science degree, and took so much of the same coursework as engineers, and it was a near-constant experience in talking with a haughty engineering student - and that’s when they were just in the training phase. This was prior to the dot-com run-up to the dot-com bubble, so Computer Science was definitely thought of (by engineers) as some kind of red-headed step-child with no real point to it - so I think that dialed up these sort of anecdotal interactions in school.

It’s not just engineers, though. I’ve seen cases where doctors (of the MD type) do this sort of thing.

Anyway, it’s particularly hilarious to see, say, an EE or ME do this with politics, the humanities, evolution, vaccines, or climate change.
