I haven’t noticed too many of them running rampant this year. Though I certainly did have one jump on me yesterday.
Yup. Kids are jumpy alright. I expect to see a lot more of them this evening.
Never saw any before this year. I don’t get how they survive because they are the slowest, dumbest bugs I’ve ever seen. They just loudly splat onto the ground out of nowhere and flail about while I stomp them into a pulp.
Idk about other places but in Pittsburgh, they just dropped. I wonder if it was the constant freeze thaw cycles causing the decline here. . They were hatching in like November of 2023 but a lot of the adults were dying attached to trees when the temps dropped below freezing.
I have yet to see these here. What we do have in droves are Joro spiders.
But why? This makes it taste better!
Certainly more nutritious.
They probably taste awful if they’ve been feeding on Tree of Heaven.
I fucking hate these things. They are going to wipe out our crops. All thanks to China exploiting our lazy import inspections. You can’t tell me this shit isn’t on purpose. Especially with all the deadly spiders and wasp nests and scorpions that come in Temu orders and shit.

It’s just difficult to carefully follow biosecurity protocols while importing millions of tons of shit all the time. Especially while racing to the bottom in terms of time and money spent on that process.
No way to avoid it other than stricter controls on imports and a more local economy. Expect it to continue, barring major reforms.
It came on a bunch of stone iirc. It’s also in south Korea and Vietnam.
Especially with all the deadly spiders and wasp nests and scorpions that come in Temu orders and shit.
Is this actually a thing? or hyperbole?
Someone did find a scorpion yes there were articles about it. Weather that scorpion is from overseas, I am unsure
