    They should be.

Immigration is not something to “worry” about really, is it?

And as for crime, hasn’t that been trending down for decade over decade? Not to downplay those affected by crime directly, but availability bias (media) gives the impression it’s getting worse when it is not.

    Iran, on the other hand…

Two things can be true, also immigration is weaponized against citizen workers for le benefit of billionaires and corporations. This is a fact

People shouldnt hate on immigrants, they should be asking their politicians to stop letting businesses have their hand in the cookie jar getting close to free slave labor making everyones work/labor devalued

It’s weird crime is a high priority issue when crime rates are low.

Yeah, indeed. All kinds of crime have been trending down for decades.

I remember telling a guy this back in the mid 00s. He was in disbelief. I told him that he really needs to turn off his TV, most especially Faux and local “news”. It’s ruining his brain.

I suspect it’s a weird inverse of survivorship bias. Just using murder as an example, 170 years ago my ancestor killed a military officer and got a 10 dollar bounty, 70 years ago my kinsmen buried bodies in the Mojave and no one took notice, nowadays someone who kills 3 random people outside of a mass shooting is very irregular and worthy of notice. You notice a speck of dirt when something is otherwise spotless.

A friend of mine’s dad lives in a nice suburb of DC. He heard on the “news” that “there was a drug deal” in the city, so he went and bought a gun “to protect his daughter”. He didn’t take any classes on gun safety, and I would be surprised if he stored it safely.

This is the level many people operate at. Emotional flailing.
