I don’t think syrup vs supermarket bottle is a fair comparison. I buy cordial for a few bucks that makes ten litres. I only get coke at HJs when hungover. If you’re regularly smashing high priced bottles of branded coke then maybe the $1.13 a litre is still good value to you.

Today is my drivers licence anniversary. I remember the day and date but the year is a little hazy. By my calculations it was possibly '98. It was a stinking hot Friday morning and I was sweating buckets in a car that would not have passed a roadworthy.

Did mine at the Box Hill copshop - on the Saturday morning before Christmas in 1975. Yes, the traffic was chaos and I’m sure the copper took this into account cos I got it on the first try. In those days, all the shops shut down at 12 noon on Saturday so there was something of a gadarene swine vibe about the whole of Box Hill Shopping centre that day.

I’m old enough to remember when the shops shut at noon. My mum yelling at me to hurry up or "there’ll be no bread left on the shelves at Safeway’.

Closed at noon on Saturday , closed all Sunday. Some were even closed for lunch.

Food was wrapped in foil or wax paper.

And I remember when most supermarkets were small independent grocers, there was not the duopoly there is today.

And when they did start opening, the Supermarkets were not allowed to sell meat or hardware items on the weekend, so they would empty the meat fridges and close off some of the shelves. I have no idea how mum managed to do the shopping once she went back to work full time.

The trading time restrictions also varied by area, when I was in Warnambool in the '90s there was only very limited Sunday trading, but it had been normal for years in Melbourne.

Anyone got any bedding recommendations? I need new bedding. I’ve worn through another set. First I wear through the fitted sheet, then I start using the flat sheet as a fitted sheet, then I wear through that. I’m currently wearing through a linen throw that was about twice the material weight of the sheets. Not Bed Threads, that’s what I’ve just worn through.

W.H Amad supply hotels, manufacture in Coburg and supply to public. They have more durable options and can make doona covers with your own custom colour scheme – though limited colours.

Second this. W H Amad are excellent. Yes you can order online. They do sheets etc. for most of the big hotels and their plain white linen sheets etc. are excellent. Mine are now plus 15 years and still going strong - even after 2 teenage boys. They cost, but they’re worth it. The only better ones I’ve got are the irish linen sheets my MOTHER bought when she married back in the 50s - these are starting to wear out but are still usable.

It must’ve been the wedding present trend of the time, as my mother got Irish linen tablecloths and napkins things gifted to her for her first marriage. Lovely stuff.

adding to my UnKAOS schedule, I’ve slotted in PT :)

so looking at getting some PT printouts

so many exercises on the net are AI and are even worse than the usual crap, most are useless, some are dangerous 😲

I just go very safe reliable sites, like Mayo

( I am just getting some printouts of exercises that were given me already, but they did not give printouts like I asked )

At home self led or with a physio?

If you can afford it maybe have a few physio sessions to learn the exercises safely and then quit (absconding with the exercise routine)
