I feel like it encapsulates perfectly what AI isn’t good at. Especially since it hired more humans than a lemonade stand would typically need.

Ok I’m anti AI as anyone but I feel like only measuring 1 day worth of sales is kinda dumb. Like if they did this for 6 months, with similar daily sales, they’ll recoup their initial investment. The real question is how does the AI manage the day to day situation. What are their daily operating costs, are they at least able to exceed that?

The point of a lemonade stand is to setup a table, make lemonade, sell it and make profit by the end of the day and that’s it.

Ok but this set up for the exercise seems inherently designed to set the AI up to fail(not that it wouldn’t.) It seems the goal of the exercise is to figure out if AI is capable of making a successful business. Businesses don’t expect to turn a profit on day 1. Usually they need at least a few months to a year. If you extrapolate the earnings out, the combined AI revenue would probably make their investment back in ~6 months. So the real question remains; is AI capable of making a successful lemonade stand? We still don’t know.
