Despite the White House insisting he remains in “perfect” health, Mr Trump fed the flames of speculation during a rally in Dalton, Georgia, this week, ahead of the November mid-terms. Addressing the crowd, the president made an offhand comment about Chinese president Xi Jinping, who he said “was here last week”.

In reality, Xi visited the US and met with Mr Trump during a three-day trip from September 23 to 25, around three weeks ago. The apparent blunder sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with one user labelling him “Dementia Donnie”. Another wrote: “He doesn’t [know] what day it is. It’s gonna get worse as he goes along.”

Why do Americans keep putting such old people into power? Trump and Biden. Why not someone young like Obama?

It was insane that it was Biden vs Trump again in 2024 for a while. Both of them are older than Bill Clinton and trying to get the job that Clinton retired from ~24 years prior to that.

Why do Americans keep putting such old people into power?

Because the US decided money = speech. All the old people have all the money. Young people are subsisting on starvation wages after Regan, and we saddled them with debt slavery from student loans. So, when you have all the money, you have all the speech. So, old people get elected.

Also, corporations control politics. They view politicians like warehouse equipment. The dollies don’t get replaced super often to maximize ROI. The same applies to politicians.

Why not someone young like Obama?

You think the rich would tolerate such a risk? He got elected and then started talking universal health-insurance. The rich dumped truckloads of money against that. So, we ended up with Romney care relabeled as Obamacare. You think they’d tolerate such a risk to their profit margins in light of what I explained above?

wealth/influence distribution across age cohorts. There is a fairly big percentage of the population that are quite old, and most of the wealth and influences is concentrated with in those older cohorts.

Younger candidates are ether sycophantically aligned ethos the interests of those older cohorts to gain the support of that wealth and influence, thus making them extremely unpopular with younger cohorts, or are opposed to those interests and thus have a huge amount of wealth and power arrayed against them and attempting to undermine them.

Older candidates who directly have control over wealth/influence/connections in that cohort can break that mold and actually do politics without having to fight that “radical”/sycophantic” dichotomy.

Basically, wealth inequality favors old people.

If you elect an easily manipulated old fool to office don’t be surprised when we take advantage of that to weaken the American Empire. Xi Jinping is not “buddies” with Trump, but Trump thinking they are buddies can certainly be beneficial to the People’s Republic.

    Donald Trump health fears spike

Who writes these headlines? Why not “Donald Trump death hopes spike” or something that better represents collective opinion?

‘The most uneducated buffoon in history stands at a podium, bloated with self-importance, lips pursed like a carnival barker ready to sell turd milk to the unsuspecting. He grins a grotesque smirk stretched across his face as he scrawls his name onto a hollow decree, a sham celebration of the dismantling of knowledge itself. The Department of Education falls, not with a bang, but with wheezing verbs, suffocated under the weight of his own staggering ignorance. Surrounding him are the usual suspects: cowards in expensive suits, servile sycophants clapping like trained seals, and racist opportunistic ghouls picking clean the bones of democracy. Liars, fools, and thieves all parasites fattening themselves on the hardships of the many. They stand in rigid formation, dead-eyed and soulless, their allegiance sworn not to country, not to principle, but to power, and the dark, festering rot that clings to it. And there he is the convicted wrong, the living embodiment of septic tank spew, his voice a noxious fog of grift and grievance. He lectures the world on right and wrong, irony clawing at the walls, desperate to escape the grotesque theatre of his moral void. The stomach turns, the air curdles, and for a moment, history itself recoils watching, in horror, as the great American experiment teeters on the precipice, led by a man who couldn’t spell “precipice” if his life depended on it.’

I’m neurotypical and I don’t remember exact dates. I don’t even know how far into the month it is most of the time. Or really what day it is unless I look.

In fact, now that I think about it most of my personal history is kind of like slices of events that don’t seem to make any sense or are even clustered together relative to each other, temporally speaking, nor ordered in any kind of chronological way. More like a sherbet swirl.

Meh, probably not important. Time keeping seems sort of extraneous in the big scheme of things, except when timing experiments which, of course, should be exact. Or making appointments, I suppose. Which I lean heavily on others to do and keep track of. Or sometimes I check my phone but the calendar events are often not up to date unless I put it on auto clone. But did I clone the specific date… or the day of the week…? Ugh, which means it’s probably off.

Eh, that’s why nobody should use these things, too many unimportant details to keep track of.

      ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It delends a lot about the particular neurological developmentd, flavors, genetics that are unique to each person.

The big “mystery” for me is what range is considered “the normal” range.

FFS an entire article about his mental decline at the rally and didn’t even mention as he left, he wandered right by the limo door being held open for him and into an empty field before being herded back by a gaggle of panicked agents.
