I was looking for any signs of editing and it’s pretty damn hard to tell. The guy in the background (not the one making sure that the dancer doesn’t fall, between him and the dancer) has some glaring issues. He magically put on a supervillan mask. The girl’s bellybutton stud disappears pretty quickly too. The bracelet has a couple of strings on it at the beginning that don’t show up again. But man, nothing was glaring on first glance.

We’re fucked. There’s no such thing as reality any more. I work in science and my colleague is editor in chief of a scientific journal. He gave up the job this week. The sheer amount of AI garbage that is submitted, he cannot handle it any more in the given timeframe. This is just one scientific journal, imagine this is happening all over in science. The pillars that create our knowledge of the world, science, the media, literature, the arts: however flawed, biased and imperfect they were, it’s over. The fake machine kills it. All potential growth that AI might create at some domains of the economy will be eaten up by this effect that erodes our trust in science or our knowledge of the world at scale. Let alone the non-monetary damage it does to the very fabric of our society.

That mask is a good pickup.

We’re all screwed though. We used to be able to trust videos as news… no longer. Propaganda eat your heart out

Agreed. After a few watches, the lighting on her lower leg seems a lot brighter than the rest of the shot. Then when “her” foot is in frame it’s not right. Are folks swiping through an infinite feed going to notice or look for that, though? Doubt it.

Fascists and conservatives externalize decision making (because deep down they know they themselves make shitty decisions), and AI appears to them as the perfect external decision maker. That it can also create a positive reinforcement loop of their worldview is an added benefit.

Thirst traps work. The Trump troll farms were doing it back in 2016. Using the methodologies at the time of course. They took every bikini picture they could find and put photoshopped MAGA hats on those women. Spammed those mostly to loner male spaces.

I don’t think it’s the “core“, but certainly an in-road. I get your point.

Speaking as a father of 2 boys who are NOT in this sphere my god as parents we are collectively failing our kids.

I by no means will say my ex-wife and I are perfect parents (we are definitely not) but we are engaged and honest with our kids.

These poor kids being co-opted into this shit must be so non-visibly vulnerable and it sucks.

I only get my kids 3-months out of the year and I’m scared for my 11-yo. He’s already a seriously angry little fucker, and he’ll be short and scrawny like me.

I managed to get laid a lot so never fell into the incel thing, but even though he’s way better looking than me, his attitude might scare women off and then he’s into a downward spiral and listening to the manosphere.

I thought so about american too, twice they prove me wrong. Bolsonaro actually might be winning the election, given the latest poll, the hype surrounding him, and Lula’s misstep.

How they do it? It seems that they first map the body movement with something like blender, then they just replace the virtual character “skin”

Probably a pose model. I don’t know what they do beyond that but the pi ai camera has a pose, and segmentation model it comes with in the demo software and it can do that shit real time with practically 0 hardware use on the pi.

I messed around in comfy ui with the pose stuff before but only with static images, so i imagine video is a similar workflow you just need more vram to use those models.
