Never had that. I used to like putting nutritional yeast on hot buttered toast.

Otherwise maybe try tiger toast (cut slices of cheese over Vegemite toast to make stripes). Or melting cheese over the mustard under the grill, mustard goes great with cheesy things.

I used to eat just mayo or mustard pickle on a slice of bread.

Or tomato sauce and spam sandwiches if you had spam. A cousin of the baloney/devon sandwich

My WWII grandmother passed on her appreciation of corned beef sandwiches to me. Even though I’ve mostly stopped eating meat I still feel like reaching for it in Aldi. My other gran gave me a taste for Fray Bentos pies, which are their own culinary abomination.

I used to love corned beef when I could eat it but I tried the tinned one from Aldi many years back and it wasn’t very good. A lot of gloopiness and connective tissue, not very tasty, kind of reminded me of how dog food looks and smells.

I’d eat it if I was starving (and able to digest meat) but it fell a bit below even my low standards :(

I wouldn’t be above one of the Frays pies though, they just look like tinned pot pies

    Just chatting about journaling.

    spoiler

I absolutely adore my diary from last year, it’s filled with stickers and washi tape and random colours where I’ve felt like it, along with noting all of the things I did like dinners out and drives we went on or even just things like the day Boyo lost his sunnies in the bay. It helps that it was a Kikki K creativity diary and while I didn’t utilise it to its full extent, it did inspire me with some of the prompts. I’m sad they didn’t do another one this year.

Lately I’ve been getting into junk journaling, but it’s felt a little harder because I feel like I want it always to be perfect, but I don’t know what that perfect is. I keep reminding myself that no one is ever going to see it unless I choose to show them.

Anyway, I’ve got it into my head that I want one of those little instax polaroid printer so I can print little pictures to add to my diary and journal, think I’m going to go and buy one after work.

Gonna take the dog for the arvo walk and by walk I mean take him out to the front porch where he’ll stare at me with the “What the fuck?!” look but at least he’ll stop with the “where’s my fuckin walk” looks I’m getting now.

I’ve hung the washing out and am having an iced coffee. When I finish my coffee, it’ll be time to bring the washing back in.

I just had an iced coffee myself. I contemplated doing some washing, but there is no way I’m going outside to hang it in this heat, you are much braver than I am.

Your planning was better than mine, I needed a sit down after I hung it and after I collected it! Even 10min is too much outside for today. I ventured out just now again to refresh the birdbath, and now I’m not leaving my aircon until the cool change comes.

My dad told me that I should hurry up and get a full time job or I’ll be washing windows on Punt Rd.

Why Punt Rd specifically mate, why aren’t you thinking bigger? 💪🤟

There’s this guy called Neil who has been washing car windows on the corner of hoddle and Victoria since I was in high school.

Do note, Victoria Street is a heroin supermarket. Still is I imagine.

The idea is that you should probs talk to someone around to find out who has the best deal/strongest gear that day. Neil knew everyone, so I usually asked him first.

He said he could score for me and my mate.

Now usually it’s insanity to give someone cash and wait for them to come back but Neil is a fucking icon of Victoria Street. And he’s skin and bones.

Big surprise, he tried to rip us off.

We ran around the area looking for him, asking everyone and of course, everyone knows Neil.

We ended up chasing him up and down hoddle Street for about half an hour until he eventually fell over from exhaustion lol

He gave us back our money.

Royal Parade is shadier, and there’s median strips which could make the process safer. You could offer to clean the side mirrors too maybe.

If you can learn abseiling window washing can be quite well paid. Great job for an introvert, just you, a bucket, a squeegie and a really long way down.

I haven’t heard a train in hours 😬I thought this might happen, it’s why my husband didn’t take the train this morning, could not rely on it in the afternoon heat

Thank god this gig tonight is at the Croxton. It’s close to home and has decent parking. Just as long as the air conditioner works well in there

Mate left at 5am to catch his flight, and immediately after Mickey came and started meowing at me. It’s too early, my furry son, and I have work 😭

But now I’m awake so that means coffee time ☕

I’ve turned the water mains off with a mallet because the outside tap has sprung a leak. Good news is I’ve had my morning shit. Bad news is I need a shower.

incidents like these are why everything is getting an individual shutoff. EVERYTHING. We have gotten very odd looks and “are you sure it costs extra…” from plumbers but I can shit in peace if the kitchen or brewery leaks.

Went to take the bins out and ran into neighbour doing the same.

He’s loving this heat, or so he claims.

He ain’t right in the head, is he?
